European Athletics Championships 2026
The European Athletics Championships came to the UK for the first time in 2026, bringing seven days of world-class track and field to Birmingham’s Alexander Stadium from 10th – 16th August.
More than 1,500 athletes from over 50 nations competed at the redeveloped stadium.
We worked alongside Britcab and Sunbelt to deliver an extensive temporary accommodation package for broadcasters and event technical teams.

A major element of the installation was the host broadcaster compound in Zone H. Using more than 60 CTX units, we created a wide range of linked spaces for the BBC, ARD/ZDF, France TV, YLE, NRK, ESSA and the event’s host broadcast and technical teams.
Configurations ranged from single units and two-bay offices to three- and four-bay buildings. The largest measured 135sqm and provided a dedicated space for the production and technical operation teams. Other facilities were supplied for editing, post-production, master control, audio, RF and intercom, booking, timing, briefing and break areas.
The broadcast buildings were configured around the operational requirements of their occupants. Across the compound, door positions were carefully orientated to the site plan and multiple entry points within the cabins were made where required for power and data cables. This detail was essential where connectivity, access and efficient workflows were critical.
Units were delivered, sited and installed in the weeks leading up to the Championships, with collections managed immediately after the final session. This allowed the temporary broadcast facilities to be installed and removed around the wider build and de-rig programme at Alexander Stadium.
From individual broadcaster spaces to multi-bay production and technical facilities, the project demonstrated the flexibility of our CTX system and our ability to create bespoke broadcast and organiser facilities for major international sporting events.
