Qdos Event Hire was honoured to supply cabins, toilets, modular buildings and luxury trailers to the events held in London to commemorate VE Day 80. The series of national celebrations culminated in a spectacular live concert broadcast on BBC One from Horse Guards Parade on the evening of Thursday 8th May.

The commemorations marked 80 years since the end of the Second World War in Europe, and featured flypasts, parades and gatherings across the capital.
Qdos was proud to work alongside Identity and the BBC Studios Events team, following previous collaborations on high-profile national moments such as the Coronation Concert at Windsor Castle and D-Day 80 in Portsmouth. Our experienced operations team coordinated the delivery and installation of over 70 units across multiple key locations in central London.
Project director Terry Marsh oversaw operations across all sites, which included Green Park, Horse Guards Parade, Queens Walk, Canada Gate and The Mall. The infrastructure we provided supported production, accreditation, site management, media, suppliers, catering, artists and audiences.
In Green Park, we supplied a full compound of production cabins for Identity, including site offices, accreditation and ticket offices, units for the cleaning and power providers and specialist cabins for security and radio operators. At Canada Gate, we delivered facilities for DCMS and the media.
At Horse Guards Parade, where the televised concert was staged, we provided 6 of our 24’ x 9’ cabins to create a production compound for Steve Nolan and his team. There were also additional units for key suppliers and ten luxury trailers were in place for the duration of the build and de-rig period. These served backstage, front-of-house, artist and VIP areas, including the Royal Box.
We installed twelve 24’ x 9’ 50/50 split dressing rooms to accommodate the large number of artists performing live, including Fleur East, Calum Scott, The Darkness, Tom Walker, Freya Riding and Sir Willard White.
We also delivered 19 luxury toilet trailers, including enhanced accessible units for the concertgoers’ comfort. We worked closely with our trusted partners at George Shaw & Sons Toilet Hire to deliver and remove all trailers on tight overnight schedules immediately following the event.
Qdos was proud to once again be a trusted delivery partner for such a significant national moment. VE Day 80: A Celebration to Remember honoured the sacrifice and resilience of a generation, and we were privileged to support the event with the infrastructure required to bring it to life on screen and on site.
