Qdos Event Hire returned to Silverstone Circuit this summer to support the delivery of the 2026 Formula 1 British Grand Prix, supplying 90+ units for use across the circuit, paddocks, campsites, entertainment areas and operational compounds.
Units included open-plan and split cabins, ticket offices, storage units and multi-bay modular buildings. These were distributed across almost 40 locations and provided essential working, welfare, production and storage facilities for the event organiser, Formula 1 teams, personnel, contractors, security providers,
volunteers and other stakeholders.
Kit begins arriving onsite almost four weeks before the Grand Prix gets underway with our experienced team ensuring that that it is sited correctly and units are configured as required.
This year’s solution ranged from 10’ x 8’ storage containers, 20’ x 9’ and 32’ x 10’ cabins, to a 40’ Fan Zone facility and eight multi-bay modular buildings. A bespoke CTX modular building was also designed for a paddock drug testing area, meeting its specific requirements.
Live music and entertainment are now an integral part of the British Grand Prix weekend and Qdos provided accommodation for several of the circuit’s stages and performance areas. For the Main Stage, we supplied a four-bay, 20ft x 32ft modular production building, alongside separate cabins for video production, catering, artist liaison and an additional production team. A dedicated storage unit was also supplied for pyrotechnics.
Further entertainment facilities were positioned at Drivers Inn and Stowe, including green rooms. At the Made at Vale Stage, four 32ft x 10ft split cabins created flexible backstage accommodation. There were also separate facilities for stage management and ADI (screen supplier), roving entertainment and presenters, together with a dedicated stage store.
Away from the entertainment areas, Qdos supplied units across the circuit’s campsites. These included volunteer access control, security teams, contractor campsite management, Racemakers, marshals and campsite radio operations. Units were also positioned at Woodcote Fields, Abbey Meadows and the Nova glamping area at Stowe.
There were also cabins for a broad range of operational requirements, from Event Control, police and paddock marshals to accreditation, welfare, safeguarding, medical and cleaning.
The British Grand Prix also required a substantial package of Formula 1-specific accommodation. Five units were supplied for F1 Academy, including offices for partnerships, operations and stewards, together with two two-bay modular buildings. One of these provided a workspace for the communications and social media teams.
Set-up cabins were positioned within the F1 Paddock and International Broadcast Centre, while three separate project offices supported EET operations. Two offices were installed in the Fan Zone for Stichd, together with a dedicated 40ft x 10ft F1 Fan Zone facility.
In the National Paddock, Qdos supplied two four-bay modular buildings for the Formula 2 and Formula 3 stewards. The larger layouts created spacious open-plan environments suitable for meetings, administration and race-related decision-making.
For the International Paddock we installed two-bay modular facilities for drug testing and Honda, as well as a separate FIA office and a dedicated mothering cabin.
Delivering such a varied package across a live motorsport venue required detailed coordination and close management of the install. Units had to be positioned around existing circuit infrastructure, temporary event facilities and busy operational areas, while remaining accessible for servicing and eventual collection.
