Festival of Speed – Case Study
For the first time in their five year history Qdos Event Hire was awarded the contract to supply portable accommodation and welfare facilities for this year’s prestigious Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Qdos supported the organisers with a single order solution, where they provided a full and comprehensive range of toilets, showers, disabled wet-rooms, cabins, offices and storage containers throughout the site.
Qdos also provided and managed a range of added value services to complement the products being supplied, this included carpenters to build and install over 80 purpose built access steps and ramps, cladding to finish and dress units, daily toilet servicing and LPG Gas for Showers.
More than 400 units were installed including 80 event cabins; 90 containers; over 40 shower Pods; 80 jack leg toilet blocks, in a combination of male, female and disabled and over 100 plastic toilets. In order to fulfil this prestigious contract Qdos invested £450k in brand new jackleg toilets with a sleek, modern contemporary design.
The Qdos team were onsite from 18th May until the 10th July with responsibility for all installation and full site management support during the build, live days and de-rig of the event. The toilet and shower facilities were distributed throughout the event site and adjacent campsites. Offices, hospitality units and storage containers were used as offices for contractors, medical centres, press and media areas and green rooms.
These included double stacked units at the top paddock for the rally stage, the main track start line building and the commentators’ box overlooking track, which was supplied in black especially for the event.
