Qdos Location Facilities was called upon by Location Support to help create a production village for a brand-new reality show being filmed at Castle Howard in September and October 2021.
Full details remain under wraps until the show’s launch, but we can reveal that many products from Qdos’ extensive range were deployed throughout the grounds of the impressive stately home, located near York. These include next generation production cabins, CTX modular buildings, guard houses, showers and storage containers, with more than 70 units in action during the six week filming period.
Stand out elements of the project included two 10 bay CTX modular buildings totalling 20’ x 80’ in total each which were utilised as offices by the production team and the team responsible for delivering the show’s tasks. Other key spaces created included an arts office, host and voiceover area and a breakout room for the show’s executives.
Additional units were supplied for runners; isolation, covid testing and first aid centre for medics; offices for Health & Safety and security; cabins and stores for power, carpenters, jibs, camera, sound, lighting and rigging departments, along with the wardrobe, seamstresses and make-up department.
One of the most challenging aspects of the project was the delivery and installation of equipment to Castle Howard, given both the remote location and the status of the listed building. However, by working closely with the production’s location support team all units were delivered to schedule and sited where required.
