Women at War case study

Qdos Event Hire was delighted to support H Power with the delivery of the Royal British Legion’s event to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the Women’s Army Auxiliary Corps on 7th July 2017. Held at the National Memorial Arboretum, Staffordshire a drumhead ceremony took place at 11.30am and was followed by a reception.

On 29th June Qdos delivered two 24’ x 9’ jackleg cabins, one split and one open plan and a 3+2 luxury mobile vacuum toilet for use by the production team in the lead up to the event. Ahead of rehearsals and the day of the event, the Qdos team returned to site on 5th July to deliver a further two 3+2 luxury mobile vacuum toilets and two mobile disabled toilets.

In addition, Qdos provided a site engineer and a toilet attendant for the rehearsal and event days. All units were removed from site on 10th July.

The creation of the WAAC was the first-time women had formally enrolled in the Armed Forces, the event recognised their contribution over the past century.

The National Memorial Arboretum was open to the public from 9am-5pm, whilst the event was streamed live on screens in Heroes Square. Guests were encouraged to explore the 300+ thought-provoking memorials that can be found on the 150-acre site.
