Supporting CSM Live with ECB bio-secure venues case study

When CSM Live was appointed by the England and Wales Cricket Board to help the governing body formulate a bio-secure return to cricket in July 2020, Qdos Event Hire was on-hand to deliver temporary accommodation and welfare facilities. Bio-secure environments were created at the Ageas Bowl, Emirates Old Trafford and training venues in Worcester and Derby, in order for international cricket to be played safely.

Qdos supplied fully equipped event cabins at each site complete with fridge, microwave, kettle, desks and chairs. Then depending on each individual site’s requirements, a combination of security booths, guard houses, luxury toilet trailers, mains jackleg toilets and plastic W.C.s.

Despite it being the height of the pandemic with demand at all-time high, Qdos was able to source 210 free standing hand sanitising stations on CSM Live’s behalf.

Given that it was all sites were designed to be bio-secure, the Qdos team adhered to strict Covid-safe working practices throughout the event’s build, event days and de-rig.

“Now that the dust has settled and we are finally finished with the ECB de-rigs I wanted to take this opportunity to thank all of you. It would not have been possible to install the multiple venues without your support and patience especially when the demands were changing regularly. Whilst this is what we do, we aren’t normally in the middle of a pandemic and furlough and many of you went above and beyond to get the job done. We have received very positive feedback and thanks from ECB for all the efforts to stage behind closed doors cricket and I wanted to extend this out to you as it was a very big team effort. Let’s hope that 2021 brings better fortune and we can get back to working in more familiar ways.”
