Somerset County Cricket Club – Case Study
Qdos Event Hire has been awarded a contract by Somerset County Cricket Club to provide a temporary double decker structure, on long term hire, for the current cricket season. Whilst a new Pavilion is being built at the ground this summer, two of Qdos’ 32” x 10” premium hospitality units will be in situ at the Club.
The upstairs area of the facility will be used by members of the press reporting on games. Downstairs the space has an internal partition, creating two separate areas; one is for the BBC Radio commentators who deliver live ball to ball commentary on every game and the other for the home and way scorers and PA announcer.
The units were installed on 20th March ahead of the pre-season friendlies. The temporary press box facility at the County Ground in Taunton was given the thumbs up by the members of the cricketing press corps who used it for Somerset’s opening four day match of the season.
The Club’s operations manager Sally Donoghue added: “We’re delighted with the service we’ve received, Qdos delivered on time, on budget and with minimal fuss and everyone is very pleased with the facilities.”
The units are expected to remain in place until late September.
