Qdos Event Hire hosted its annual Family Day at Chinnor RFC on Saturday 9th May, as the home side took on Richmond RFC in the final home game of the season.
With Chinnor needing a win to secure a historic place in the Championship play-offs, Kingsey Road was full of colour for the club’s annual beach party, with Hawaiian shirts and a strong crowd adding to the atmosphere.
Guests on the day included Qdos staff, suppliers, clients and families, as well as the Chinnor U13s team and their parents. The U13s marked a successful season with a half-time pitch parade and tie presentation, making it a memorable occasion for the club’s young players and their families.
Qdos has worked with Chinnor RFC for more than seven years, supporting the club across its minis, junior and senior teams. The relationship began with Qdos helping the club to deliver larger one-off events and manage increased footfall on match days, before growing further following Chinnor’s promotion to Elior Champ Rugby.
That support reflects Qdos’ commitment to working with the local club from the grassroots up, helping them to grow sustainably while improving the experience for players, supporters, sponsors and guests.
The Family Day was hosted in Chinnor’s bespoke Try Line Suite and Terrace, supplied by Qdos using its QVue range. Positioned pitch side, the facility features floor-to-ceiling glass panels, a 2.5-metre-high viewing terrace created with CTX balconies, a separate bar area, vinyl flooring, heating, air conditioning and LED lighting.
The suite has become a popular addition at Kingsey Road, demonstrating how Qdos’ adaptable range of units can be used by sports clubs to enhance match-day facilities, support increased crowds and create improved hospitality and viewing areas.

In addition to the Try Line Suite and Terrace, Qdos has provided Chinnor with a bar, media suite, toilets and kitchen area. Across the UK, Qdos works with sports clubs to supply additional and upgraded facilities, including media, medical, spectator viewing, bars, ticketing, hospitality, catering and WC facilities. Its rental products and event industry experience allow the team to create tailored solutions to suit clubs of different sizes, requirements and budgets.
On the pitch, Chinnor completed the day in style, securing a 29–14 win over Richmond and booking their place in the play-offs. Qdos sponsored both the match ball and Man of the Match award, with Jamie Campbell taking the prize on the day.
James Thomas, managing director of Qdos Event Hire, said: “It was a fantastic day and a brilliant occasion for everyone connected with Qdos and Chinnor. The atmosphere at Kingsey Road was superb and to see Chinnor secure their place in the play-offs made it even more special.
“We’re incredibly proud of our association with Chinnor. It’s a local club with real ambition, but it’s also a club with a strong grassroots foundation and that’s something we’re very pleased to support. For us, the relationship is about more than supplying kit. It’s about helping the club improve its facilities, welcome more people through the gates and create a better match-day experience for players, supporters, sponsors and guests. We’re delighted to be part of Chinnor’s journey and look forward to continuing to support the club.”
Chinnor now face Worcester on Saturday 16th May as they continue their push for promotion to Prem Rugby.
