Golf Sixes – case study

When the inaugural Golf Sixes 2017 tournament was held at the Centurion Club in St. Albans this May, Qdos Event Hire was on hand to deliver the inaugural event’s temporary accommodation requirements. With a new and revolutionary format, the short form of golf followed 16 two-man teams from a host of different nations across a six-hole course, over two days.

Qdos delivered a wide range of cabins in a variety of sizes and configurations including: stores for baggage, IT, water, programmes, cleaning, merchandise and buggy hire; offices for officials, electricians, security office, onsite communications and rest areas and cabins for use as contractors’ rest areas, tournament hosts, accreditation, tournament control, Health & Safety, medical and physio teams.

In addition, cabins were provided for use by several of the other event contractors working on the tournament including: Creative Technology, Arena and ACS.

2 x 20’ x 9”, including open plan

9 x 20’ x 9” in a mixture of open plan, 50/50 splits, with and without sinks

8 x 24’ x 9” in a range of 50/50 split and open plan

2 x 32’ x 9” with a 50/50 split

4 x 32’ x 10” in a range of open plan hospitality, 30/30/40 split, a 60/40 spilt and open plan

1 x 40’ x 10” in a 33/33/33 split with sink

The tournament was a huge success with fans and is being hailed as Golf’s answer to 20 20 Cricket. Hosts Vernon Kay, Anna Whitely, Andrew Coltart, Nick Dougherty and Henni Zuel, and celebrity guest commentators including cricketer Kevin Pietersen MBE and Denise van Outen, kept fans at the venue and at home entertained and up to date with the all the action.
