Case Study – The Patrons Lunch

Qdos Event Hire was called upon by The Patrons Lunch Events Limited, to provide high quality temporary accommodation to support the delivery of the Patron’s Lunch, on the Mall in St James Park, in June 2016, which was to be the grand finale of the Queen’s 90th birthday celebrations.

The Patron’s Lunch, the first of its kind, and the climax of a weekend of celebrations, recognised Her Majesty The Queen’s lifetime dedicated to service and patronage of more than 600 organisations across the UK. The Mall was transformed into the centrepiece of a magnificent spectacle, with the majority of the 10,000 guests from the Patron’s Organisations, taking part in a classic British ‘street party’ enjoying a hamper style lunch at tables positioned along the length of the Mall with entertainment and plenty of union flags.

Qdos supplied a total of 15 high quality cabins and offices with lighting, heating and power points across Green Park and on Horse Guards Parade, before the event, including office cabins that were split 70/30 and 50/50.

In Green Park, the team installed ten cabins and offices providing the infrastructure for the production village. This include a number of 24ft x 9ft offices for the event team, site team, communications, security, electricians and noise control, as well as a 20 foot store for secure storage of site kit and signage.

In addition, offices were installed to house the event control team alongside a 24ft X 9ft meeting room. Two further offices were supplied for the media area to house the press office and social media team and a four window 24ft x 9ft ticket office was used for media accreditation.

On Horse Guards Parade two mobile trailer offices were put in place, one for the parade management team, which was open plan and the second was dressing room with a 50/50 split.
