Qdos Event Hire provided temporary accommodation, welfare and toilet facilities to the Farnborough International Airshow 2018 for the fourth event in succession. The units were for the benefit of exhibitors, visitors and suppliers attending the week-long trade exhibition and public air show for the aerospace and defence industries. The event attracts in the region of 200,000 visitors.

Although the first day of the show was 16th July, the Qdos team arrived onsite in March, with a dedicated project manager there every single day of the install, ensuring production and hospitality suites were ready for when the organisers and suppliers to the event required them.

A whole host of suppliers required hospitality units including: DB Systems, Carrier Rental Systems, Cooling Event Services Ltd, Smart AV, WES, Detail, Expo Floor, Showhire, GES – Graphics, Evergreen Events Limited, CEVA – Contractors Village, CEVA (Airbus), CEVA – Warehouse, Event & Exhibition Partnership and Sodexo.

This year we installed a combination of cabins and our modular building system, they ranged in size from 20’ to 40’ and we delivered several different configurations, including splits, links and double stacked units with staircases.

Additional cabins were supplied for use as:

  • production offices
  • security offices
  • gatehouses
  • hospitality and marketing suites
  • ticket offices
  • accreditation facilities
  • dressing rooms
  • production suites
  • reception areas
  • offices for customs and immigration
  • traffic and police control
  • fire station base
  • lost children’s office
  • stores

In addition, we supplied jackleg toilets to the event from our extensive range, including: a combination of ladies and gents, urinals, ladies only, gents only and disabled units. We also upgraded a number of the toilet facilities to our newer style jackleg toilets and luxury mobile vacuum toilets to create a better first impression on arrival at various gates.

Throughout the installation, open days of the event and derig, a dedicated project manager provided a single point of contact to ensure a personal, fast and efficient service was delivered to this large scale, multi-faceted and complex project.
