Yard Operative / Labourer

About the role: 

On a day-to-day basis you can expect to be based in our Reading depot, working within a small team, liaising regularly with depot personnel and our team of project managers. You will be responsible for maintaining, repairing and refurbishing our kit as required and ensuring it is delivered to site in optimum condition. 

Your main responsibilities will include:

  • Cleaning, painting and general maintenance to cabins, modular buildings and welfare facilities
  • Servicing toilets and showers as required
  • Minimise material wastage
  • Site visits to carry out repairs as required
  • Assist in the safe loading and unloading of cabins / buildings and materials
  • Always maintain good housekeeping in the yard and workshop
  • Adhere to current Health & Safety legislation

About you:

To be successful in this role you will need to have basic experience in plumbing, joinery or electrical work. You will have excellent time management skills, with the ability to juggle a busy workload and remain calm under pressure. Being an enthusiastic team player with a commitment to offering first class customer service is essential. 

Skills required:

  • Experience of plumbing, joinery or electrical (would suit a handyperson)
  • Ability to multi task and prioritise busy workload
  • Ability to think on your feet and work on own initiative
  • Strong communication skills both verbal and written

This is a permanent role with an immediate start.
